  Metal roofing products do not absorb moisture and therefore have excellent compatibility with snow and ice. Freeze/thaw cycles do not cause the panels to raise because of their interlocking design and nailing clip fastening system. Because of the excellent snow shedding capabilities of our products, the risk of leaking due to ice dams is almost non-existent.

  Many products rely on felt underlayment's to maintain a sound waterproof membrane. Unfortunately, these underlayment's (if they are not synthetic like the RoofTopGuard2, Sharkskin, Triflex-30 or Titanium UDL we use) become brittle and can fail causing a leak. Over time, all traditional roofing products will split, break, crack, curl, warp or absorb water. But not our metal roofing!   Metal is 100% recyclable. There is little waste and it can be recycled an infinite number of times without degradation. Most often metal roofing can be installed directly over an existing wood or composition roof (depending on your local building code) which eliminates tearing off of the old roof and burdening over capacity landfills.   The National Association of Homebuilders Research Center has estimated that somewhere in the neighborhood of 20 BILLION pounds of asphalt shingles are thrown into American landfills every year, enough so that if a year’s worth of tossed out shingles were loaded onto tractor-trailers, and then set bumper-to-bumper, they would stretch from New York to Los Angeles, back to New York, and then on to Chicago, according to the Metal Roofing Alliance. Also, since it takes an estimated 300 years for asphalt shingles to decompose, by the time Year 1 shingles have disintegrated into the earth, there will have been 6 TRILLION more pounds of asphalt shingle waste discarded in US landfills.
